Mayan Ruins at Tulum, Mexico

Our first stop on the cruise was Cozumel, Mexico. We traveled to the Mayan ruins at Tulum, Mexico. This area is awesome. It is located on the coast. The temple in the middle of the photo is aligned so that the sun passes through the three doors at the top on December 21 to celebrate winter solstice. We had a great tour. Just as the tour guide finished with the tour and gave us time to check out the area on our own, the sky opened up and we got drenched!! .We couldn't take any more photo's of the area...we had to head back to the bus. By the time we walked the half mile back , we were soaked to the skin. We had fun anyway. The temp. was in the 80's and it was a warm rain. Life is good!
