Munson Falls

Before we headed out this morning we had to take a time to drive 2 1/2 miles from where we were camped to see this falls. The Munson falls is 266 ft high. We hiked 1/4 mile back to see it. After we got back , we hitched up the PT to the motorhome and traveled 48 miles to our next stop at an Elks Campground south of Lincoln City. Tomorrow we will part from John and Marge and head back to Coburg, Or to have some maintance done on the motorhome before making our big trip to Colorado next week. Posted by Picasa

We stayed a couple of day in Tillamook, OR. We visited the Tillamook Cheese factory, an air museum, had lunch at an oyster house resturant and visited Cape Meares on the ocean. Posted by Picasa

Ocean view at Kalaloch, WA

Today we left the SKP park in Chimacum to travel the long way around to Hoquiam, WA via the westerly Hwy 101. It is a beautiful drive past several lakes, through some of the rain forest and along the Pacific Ocean. We will stay here in Hoquiam for a few days while we visit the Quinault Rain Forest and the Grays Harbor Lighthouse. We also will try to visit a fishing boat to get some really fresh fish...I hope! Life is good! Posted by Picasa

Carrie Glacier_Mt Deception

We drove to the top of Hurricane Ridge (just south of Port Angeles). Awesome views of the Olympic Mountain range. The largest white patch of snow is the Carrie Glacier. Everywhere we looked there were fantastic views and wild flowers everywhere! Posted by Picasa

Mr. Thistle

I couldn't resist taking this picture. This thistle almost looks like a face. Posted by Picasa

USA/Canada

I took this picture on the way down from Hurricane Ridge. That is Port Angeles at the base of the hill...The Strait of Juan de Fuca is the body of water and the land on the other side of the water is Victoria, BC. Posted by Picasa

Deception Pass

Monday we made the trip by ferry to Widbey Island to visit friends. There is only 2 ways to get on this island just north of Seattle. One way is to drive north of Seattle on I-5 and then west on SR20 across a bridge to Anacortes, then south across the bridge of Deception Pass to Whidbey Island. The other way to get on the Island is to take the car/passanger ferry from Port Townsend, WA to the middle of the island, near Fort Casey. We chose the 30 min. ride on the ferry...the other way would have taken a couple of hours by car. The island is pretty, but I don't think I would want to live there...only 2 ways on and off the island!!! Posted by Picasa

Admiralty Head Lighthouse

As we were leaving Whidbey Island on the ferry, I took this picture of Admiralty Head Lighthouse, Whidbey Island. Posted by Picasa

Great guy

We were on the dock at Port Townsend and the wind blew really hard and John's hat went flying into the water. This guy was peddling his kayak nearby. We yelled and asked him to get the hat. He plucked the hat out of the water and returned it to John at the dock, then went on his merry way. Great Guy!!! Posted by Picasa

Dungeness Lighthouse in Sequim

I took this picture with my 10x telephoto lense. It sits way out in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can take the 5 mile hike out to this one on the sand spit at low tide. We decided we didn't want to do that, so we just took pictures! LOL Posted by Picasa

Troll

We went to Sequim, WA on Saturday. We wanted to see the lighthouse and check out the Lavendar Festival street fair. The lighthouse was great, but the street fair....well...you see one you have seen them all! Anyway, our neighbor at the RV park told us about this house on the way to Sequim that had all these trolls around their house. It was great...they were everywhere. This was the biggest one. It looked like a fantasy world here. Life is good! Posted by Picasa

Washington State Ferries

We left Bremerton this morning on the 9 am ferry for a 60 min. ride to Seattle. Only $3.25 to ride the ferry both ways. This is they way locals get around Puget Sound. We spent the day touring Seattle(John, Marge, Ed and Sandy). We walked a lot and took the bus to the Space Needle. We had fun, but boy our feet are tired tonight!! Life is good! Posted by Picasa

Seattle Skyline

I took this picture from the ferry as we were leaving Seattle. Posted by Picasa

Space Needle

We just couldn't visit Seattle without checking out the Space Needle. Posted by Picasa

Here we are on the observation deck of the Space Needle. Even though it was a cloudy day, we still had great views of the surrounding area. The only thing we couldn't see was Mt Rainer. Posted by Picasa

Pike Place Market Center in Seattle

We had to visit the Pike Place market place. We had a great clam chowder for lunch, bought fresh fish and just watched the people...some of them are really strange. This is a must see place if you visit Seattle. Posted by Picasa

Pike Place Fish Market

We watched them yell and toss fish at this fish market. They have a great time while they work. Everytime someone makes a purchase the guys on the outside toss the fish to the ones behind the counter who ring up the transadtion and then toss the package back out to the people. Everyone goes there for the show and of course some of us bought the fresh fish...yum...yum. We will have cevieche soon!! Posted by Picasa

Elk's Club in Bremerton, WA

We are here in Bremerton, WA at the Elks Club. We saw this racoon and he was kind enough to stay still long enough for me to get this picture of him by the berry bushes. There are lots of blackberry bushes around here. I looked a little and they are not quite ready. Hope some ripen before we leave on Saturday. Posted by Picasa
