Great View

We spent the last several days at a SKP Ch 9 rally in Roseburg, OR. Great Rally...lots of fun. There were about 30 people at the rally. We stayed at the Twin Rivers Vacation Park a few miles outside of town. The RV park sits along the Umpqua River. This is one of the views we had from our RV site. A very large nesting box has been built several feet above the power lines. The Osprey like to build their nests close to water and as high as they can get. They use the same nest year after year. We noticed smaller birds also use the edges of this nest for their own nests....kind of like a condo for birds. The Osprey feed entirely on fish so the little birds are not in danger of becoming food for them. This bird looks a lot like the Bald Eagle, only smaller in size...21" to 24" high. We move on today. We are now back at the SKP Co-Op in Sutherlin, OR where we will spend the next week. Good place to spend the 4th of July since most of the RV parks will be full. 

A pair of Osprey

This was the only shot I got with both parents at the nest. Most of the time one or the other were out flying and fishing. 

Adult Osprey on their nest. It appeared that this had been feeding young, although we did not see the young ones. 

Heceta Head Lighthouse

I just love to take pictures of lighthouses. We visited Florence, Oregon today. We wanted to see the Sea Lion Caves just south of this lighthouse, but we had Max with us and they don't allow dogs. I know we could have left him in the car, but...you know how we spoil him. We did get to see this lighthouse and it was worth the trip here! Life is good! 

Beautiful Oregon Coast

Took this picture about 10 miles north of Florence, Oregon. 

We arrived in Harrisburg, Or last Monday. We are at the Monaco service center to get a few minor issues fixed. We are still here waiting on parts, (should be in by Tuesday) and then we will be on our way...I hope!

Camp Monaco

Ed met a friend at Camp Monaco. Tom, a full-timer) owns the Beaver next to us. They hit it off and have been goofing around since they met. 

Timber Valley

We are spending a couple nights here at the SKP Co-Op, Timber Valley in Sutherlin, OR. We have a nice quiet spot in the trees. No Satalite service here, but the park has wi-fi...so no problem with internet. I love being this close to the woods...lots of wild life comes around. Life is Good! 

Fat deer

This deer was just across the road from us. She looks fat or pregnant. They just roam around the park and eat whatever they can find. 

Dinner

Wildlife ....just within walking distance from our motorhome. If we could catch one of these, we would have a great dinner tonight.....wild turkey....yum! 

We're in Oregon

We are staying the night at Joe Creek Waterfalls RV Resort, just a few miles north of Grants, Pass, OR. I took the picture of the waterfalls which is at the back of the RV park. This is a SKP discount park...very nice and quiet. Free Wi-Fi so didn't have to put up the dish either! Life is Good! 

On our way to Oregon

Took this picture at the rest stop just north of Weed, CA. I wanted to get the whole motorhome in the picture but there was a big rig next to us and I wasn't able to get us and Mt Shasta in the picture together...this is the best I could do. 

Mt Shasta

We finally got our first glimpse of Mt Shasta, while we were traveling on I-5, just north of Redding,CA. From 50 miles away it looked big, but as we got closer...awesome is the word. Mt Shasta, 14,162 feet and covered in snow. Beautiful! 

Condo at Squall Valley

We were waiting in front of our condo Sunday morning. We got there ar noon and it wasn't ready go we just enjoyed the sunshine and fed the birds while we waited. 

To the top of the mountain

This tram runs from the base of Squall Valley to High Camp, 8200'. We can see this running from our condo. We took the tram to High Camp for see the snow and take pictures. 

Only in California

Here people are swimming and in the background, people are still skiing in the snow. 8200' elevation at Squall Valley, CA. 

Yes, that's snow we are standing in!

We had to get a picture of us standing in the snow. That is as far into the stuff that I wanted to go. No, those are not props next to us,people were still skiing at the top of the mountain when this picture was taken on 5/29,2006. The snow is melting, but still lots of it. It should take most of June and maybe into July for all of the white stuff to go away. 

Bucket of Blood Saloon in Virginia City, NV

We took Steve & Nancy to Virginia City, NV and we "had" to stop at the Bucket of Blood Saloon for a photo shoot! 

Eagle Falls

Eagle Falls above Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. The Lake is very full and there is still a lot of snow on the mountains....melting and pouring into the lake. 

Lake Tahoe

I think Ed is looking for bald eagles. We stopped at Sugar Pine park to check out the water in Lake Tahoe. Yes that is snow on the mountains in the back. 

Lunch at the Bridgetender

On Ed's birthday, we stopped at the Bridgetender resturant for lunch. The outdoors area is right next to the Truckee River. It was great sitting here listening to the water and watching the ducks in the river. Ed really enjoyed his birthday this year! 

Ed's Birthday Celebration

Ed, Sandy, Nancy and Steve getting ready to board the Tahoe Queen for a sunset dinner cruise on Ed's birthday. The Tahoe Queen is in the background. We had a great time on Lake Tahoe. The food, the live band, the views and the company were great.
