Our first stop in Washington State

Hi. We arrived in Washington State today. We are staying at the Mt Saint Helen RV park just outside of Castle Rock, WA. . We took the 47 mile drive on 504 to the Johnson Ridge Observatory to view Mt Saint Helen and see if there was any activity today. The weather was very overcast and the very top was in the clouds. The volcano became "active" again last fall and they just reopened JRO on May 6. We were 3 miles from the base of the volcano when we took the pictures. That is as close as they will let anyone get right now. They say that the new lava dome is still growing, but not like it did in 1980. Tomorrow we will leave this area and drive to Bremerton, Wa, just across the bay from Seattle. This is really beautiful country. Hugs, Sandy & Ed
