Columbia River Gorge

Today we drove 168 miles along the Columbia River Gorge between the states of Washington and Oregon. This area is famous for its water falls...77 on the Oregon side alone. Trouble is many of them are only accessible by hiking trails. We visited the ones we could that were along the road. Lewis and Clark traveled this river in 1805 and archaeological digs show humans were fishing for salmon here more that 10,000 years ago. This area is awesome. If you ever get to this area it is truly worth your time to take the drive between Portland and The Dalles in Oregon. We traveled State Route 14 on the Washington Side and State Route 30 on the Oregon Side.
