We are back in the lower 48

We made it back to the lower 48.  What a trip.  As you can see by all the pictures I posted, we had a great time.  I could have posted a lot more pictures...I only took over 2600+, but I remember what it was like when Mom & Dad would capture us to watch their slide shows of their trips out west.  It is much better seeing the real thing.

We are in Oregon and will slowly make our way south.  Don't want to get back to the 90+ temps too soon...probably get back to North Ranch the last week of Sept.  Until our next adventure......

OK..1 more post from up north

Before we headed back into the lower 48, we stopped for a few days in the small town of Hope, BC.  We drove the 30 miles back north to a place called Hells Gate.  Here are a few pictures of that place.

Those weird things on the sides of the canyon are fish ladders.  Salmon swim up that river to spawn After construction of the 2 railroads along this river the rocks that fell in the water made it very difficult for the salmon to make it up the river.  They say that in the spring with the snow melt, almost twice the amount of water that goes over Niagra Falls goes through this narrow passage.
I also went to see this beautiful falls.  It's called Bridal Falls.  The falls starts far..far up the mountain.  I was not able to get the entire falls in the picture.
