Tara

We visited a real southern plantation house, Stately Oaks Plantation in Jonesborough, GA. I have always wanted to visit one. It was not as big as I thought it would be. 4 rooms upstairs and 4 room down. The sitting room was rather small...I don't know how several women with hooped skirts would have fit into that room! This is the house that Margaret Mitchell wrote about in her famous novel, "Gone With The Wind". The grandkids seemed to be interested....had to keep telling them..."don't touch"! LOL

Point Park

While in Chattanooga we visited another Civil War battle site....on top of Lookout Mountain. We had to hurry though the park since it was ready to rain...it even dumped on us while we were in the park...had to run for the New York Peace Memorial to get out of the rain. The view in this picture is of Chattanooga and the Tennessee river. It is hard to imagine those Union soldiers storming up this mountain and overtaking "Rebs".

Swinging Bridge

Swinging Bridge at Rock City....and YES, Ed and I both crossed this bridge. Fun but a little scary when Ed started to make it shake.

Rock City

We visited Rock City in Chattanooga, TN. I remember coming here with my Mom & Dad when I was about 6 yrs old. Nothing much has changed. I remembered the swinging bridge...it's still there. Fat man's squeeze...we both made it through that one!! LOL This picture was taken from the Observation Point. I am standing in front of Lovers' Leap where you are suppose to be able to see seven states. They didn't have the lines drawn in red between the states...so I really didn't know if I saw all seven! LOL
