Our trip to Sedona

Here are 2 of the 3 trollies the SKP's traveled on during our visit to Sedona yesterday. Even though I have been here 2 other times, the trolly ride took me to places I missed Sedona is a beautiful place, but with all the tourists, it is very crowded. Posted by Picasa

Church of the Red Rock

This church was built around the rock. No blasting or removal of rock was done. It is a very small church with one of the most awesome views I have every seen. The small rock tower, third from the right is called Madonna and child. Posted by Picasa

Sedona

This picture was taken from an overlook above the town of Sedona. This is just one of many beautiful views surrounding Sedona. Posted by Picasa

Montezuma Castle

Sinagua indian farmers began building this five story, 20 room structure early in the 12th century. It stands in a cliff recess about 100 feet above the valley. This structure was abandoned in the early 1400s. This structure is protected from the elements and is one of the best preserved prehistoric structures in the Southwest. This cliff dwelling is located about 50 miles south of Flagstaff, AZ. Early American settlers assumed that it was Aztec in origin and named it Montezuma Castle. Posted by Picasa

Trail to the bottom of the canyon

Took this picture of the Grand Canyon Village and the Bright Angel trail to the bottom of the canyon. Ten years ago I would have tried this trail, but not today. We saw people heading down and coming up. Posted by Picasa
