Seals at Mugu Lagoon

We saw these sea lions/seals sunning themselves along Mugu Lagoon. This was only half of them. This is a great place for them. The lagoon is on the Navy base and the public can't bother them. Life if good. Posted by Picasa

Point Mugu

We spent a couple of nights at Point Mugu Navy base campground. We had this view just a short walk from our motorhome. Posted by Picasa

Exploring the Apache Trail

Today we took a very long drive just north of Mesa Arizona in the Sonora desert. Massive rock formations, abundant saguaro cacti, Canyon Lake, Apache Lake, Ghost Town "Goldfield", Roosevelt Dam and massive mountain peaks. WOW! I took over 80 pictures today, but only posted a few of the many sights we saw. Life if Good!

Denny Orr and Ed and I climbed to the cliff dwellings. Sure got the heart pumping, but it was worth the climb. I just can't imagine those people carrying their food and water up there every day!!! Posted by Picasa

Pass Mountain AKA "Scarface"

I took this picture last night just a sunset as the full moon was rising above Pass Mountain. We are enjoying this camping site and will be here till Friday or Saturday, Feb 17/18. This is a beautiful desert area. Posted by Picasa

Barrel Cactus

This barrel cactus is just outside our motorhome. This big guy is probably 15-20 yrs old at least. I guess you can eat the flesh of this plant, but I wouldn't want to destroy this beauty. Posted by Picasa

I wouldn't want to tangle with this. There are many like this one around our campground. Posted by Picasa

What a great view we have here. We got to Mesa yesterday and had to stay in the overflow area of the Usery Park until today. We will be here for about a week for the SKP Ch 34 rally. We will be the VCR's for this rally. Should be fun. Ch 34 is from the Columbia River area. WA & OR states. Weather has been warm in the 70's during the day and into the high 40's ar night. Life is Good....I love being retarded.....I mean retired! Posted by Picasa

Beyond Hope

While traveling on Hwy 60 east of Quartzsite, you travel through a little town called Hope. As you leave you will see this sign on the left.....You're now beyond Hope. Posted by Picasa

The Big Tent

As we were leaving Quartzsite on Monday 1/30, I had to get a picture of the Big Tent. It was filled with more stuff to buy. Every year this is what draws the large crowds to Quartzsite during the 3rd or 4th week of January. The BIG RV Show in the BIG Tent. Lots of people trying to find bargins for the RV lifestyle. Posted by Picasa

Shop till you drop

Here is one of the things we do in Quartzsite....Shop....Shop.....Shop. You can not hit all the areas in one day. Think of 5 big flea markets in one place and then add a few smaller areas too and you have Quartzsite. Posted by Picasa

Local Color

This is THE BOOK STORE to visit while you are in Quartzsite. We just drove by here today and I was hoping that the owner would be outside so I could get a picture of him...you see, the ONLY thing he wears is a "g-string". You heard me right, he is almost complete naked! Posted by Picasa

A Dogs life

Here is one of Don & Shirley's "grandsons". Their daughter Kim came for a visit for a couple of days at Quartzsite and brought their dog. He has his own chair. What a life. I just couldn't resist taking this picture. Posted by Picasa
