We are here in Columbus, NM at the Poncho Villa State Park. We are attending our first Escapees Ch 21 rally. We are having a great time with old and new friends. We went across the border into Palomas, Mexico for dinner at the Pink Store on Friday evening and had a good time...the margaritas were very good! Life is Good, Hugs, Sandy & Ed  

Yesterday we went to the Columbus Day parade here in Columbus, NM. Small town with a small parade, but they put everything they had into it. Fire trucks, 2 floats, dancing girls, bicycles, old car, motorcycles. We had a good time watching them. 

We have had several days of rain here in Columbus, NM. The rains made small streams in the campground that we had to walk through or try to jump. This stream had getting into the car just a little challenging.

Last Day of Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

We were told that there were over 700 balloons at this years fiesta. Saturday it was very calm and I believe that all 700 balloons went up. They just kept sending them up, wave after wave after wave. It was awsome! Life is Good! Hugs, Sandy & Ed

The Escapees are enjoying the mass ascension this morning. We have over 80 rigs here for the Escapees HOP. Everyone is having a great time.

We went to the Special Shape Glowdeo tonight. They just light up all the balloons at the same time and it gets better as the sky gets darker. If the weather is right, the Special Shape Balloons fly tomorrow morning. We are having a great time here at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

This is what the "Glowdeo" looks like. They count down and all the balloons "light up" at the same time. 

These 2 bees must have velcro on their arms. They are suppose to be able to take off together, seperate and come back together again. Hope the weather is right so we get to see them fly tomorrow morning!

There were so, so many Special Shape balloons. I had a great time taking pictures. 

We are down on the field watching them blow up the Special Shape Balloons. This is how they start getting it up. 

The ballons were very close and a few barely skimmed the tops of the motorhomes.  

Here we are at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We will be here until it ends on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005. Everyday they have something different. This morning was the Flight of the Nations Mass ascension. Tomorrow and Friday will the the Mass ascension of the Special Shapes and the evening "Glowdoe". Just hope the weather stays nice so that they fly everyday as planned. I did not count the number this morning it seemed like that just kept coming and coming. There were hundreds of them.
