Last day in California

Hi. Today is Ed's birthday and our last full day in California for about 6 months. We went to Crescent City today and saw this really neat lighthouse, more giant redwood trees and a herd of elk. Tomorrow we drive north into Oregon along Hwy 101. We are having fun and enjoying the beauty that God has created for us to enjoy. Hugs, Sandy & Ed

Eureka, CA

Hi. We are here in Eureka, CA. Yesterday we drove the Avenue of the Giants and today we visited "Old Town" in Eureka. They have so many victorian houses I just couldn't take pictures and post them all. The weather has been cool, but sunny and nice. We will be here till 6/1 before we move on north. Having fun, many things to see. Hugs, Ed & Sandy

We ate at The Samoa Cookhouse just outside Eureka, CA. Ed thought he died and went to heaven. They serve lots of good food, lumber camp style. It was built in the late 1800's to serve the loggers and is still in operation.  Posted by Hello

We spent over 5 hours driving 33 miles of beautiful redwood groves. The trees form a wonderful canopy for the drive amoung them. Some are so close that they have been "damaged" by vehicles that have gotten too close. Posted by Hello

We are in the Redwoods.

Hi. We are in Eureka, CA On the coast of northern California. We will be here for the next several days. We have much to see. The Avenue of the Giants are just a few miles south of here. This is beautiful country. I have posted pictures of the Elks campground and the drive north on the 101. There are spots where the highway gets very narrow. I can't wait till we take a drive through the Avenue of the Giants tomorrow. I will take more pictures of that area and post them. Life is Good on the road. Hugs, Sandy & Ed

Eureka Elks lodge. This is a beautiful lodge. If you are an Elk, this is a great place to camp. Full hook-ups and very nice view. Posted by Hello
